The Folklore Ballet Mixcoatl (Ballet Foklorico Mixcoatl - BFM) was formed in 1993 by a group of young students from "Colegio de Bachilleres de Chihuahua" – a College in Chihuahua, Province of Chihuahua, Mexico. Today, young students from different High schools and Colleges dance in the Ballet.

Five months after they had started rehearsals, Mr Hernandez – the founder, and his students represented their Province at the 2nd Review of Mexican Folklore Dances which took place in Tabasco Province. The quality of their dances and the zest for dancing impressed the specialists.

In May 1994 the group competed against other High Schools and Colleges from the Province and won first place. Then the group received many invitations from Cultural Organisations in Mexico, Europe and Asia.

The objective of BFM is to promote Mexican culture around the world performing various Indian and half-caste dances from all Mexican Provinces.
