The clay is typical from the Quinchamalí area and it is extract from the heart by artesans. After soaking the clay in water, each piece cross through 13 steps, in each the artesans shape them with the hands and simples implements, such us stones, strips of weather, woods and nails. The pieces are covered in red clay and cooked. The black tone so typical from Quinchamalí handicraft is obtained by fire. |
